Helping people work towards overcoming systems of privilege and oppression so that we can move closer towards God’s kingdom on earth through:
EDUCATION: In order to answer the call of working for Justice, we need to know about the injustice in the world. We will present youth and adults about issues of economic, racial, and other social justice issues through immersion in communities of marginalized people through biblical and experiential learning.
WORSHIP: Because of God’s love for us, we are called to serve God and to give God praise. Participants with EWR will experience worship in many different ways from traditional reformed liturgy to modern music, from Taize chants to spiritual practices of the desert fathers and mothers.
RECONCILIATION: In a broken world bridge building among marginalized communities and those with privilege is crucial. Just as Jesus reconciled God’s people to God’s self, we are called to engage in that same ministry of reconciliation. By praying with and sharing a table with and worshiping with and walking with and working with people participants don’t usually engage with, it is our goal to give all people a better understanding of the reconciling nature of God.
